What’s on my mind this month is what it means to become known as a national leader with an established program of excellence in a medical specialty.
We are fortunate to have multiple faculty leaders who are among the best in their respective fields. These individuals truly embody the School of Medicine’s guiding principle of “discovery-based medicine,” whereby our approach to treatment, procedures and management of patients at hospitals across the University of Maryland Medical System are based on fundamental research conducted in the laboratory.
